Forno Nero, a fusion of flavours and traditions

In the heart of Faro, in the famous Santo António street, you’ll find Forno Nero. This restaurant ties the Italian flavours to Algarve’s traditions, and promises to make everyone’s delight.

Described as a Mediterranean-based food restaurant, here the Italian traditions merge with the Portuguese, creating an original concept. The pizzas and pastas made in the traditional way, with ingredients imported directly from Italy, are the real stars. But Forno Nero is much more than that, and its’ varied offer proofs just that.

THE MENU

Off to a good start, we suggest one of the most asked starters – Burrata Algarvia, with arugula, almonds, dry figs, ciabatta bread and orange vinaigrette – or, you can go with the classic Garlic Bread, a choice that never disappoints. If you want to go for a lighter meal, there’s a varied list of salads, we highlight the Italiana, a mix of lettuces, bocconcini, Parma ham and dry or fresh figs; but if what you came looking for the famous Italian food, you’ll see that there’s a lot to choose from.

For the pizza lovers the choices are vast, if you prefer something cheesy, we suggest of course, the Four Cheeses pizza that perfectly blends mozzarella fior di latte, taleggio, gorgonzola and parmesan. For the more audacious, the fans of spice, pizza Diavolawith spicy spinata salami is a palate explosion. As for a healthier choice, there’s the Vegetarianpizza with a whole-wheat dough, a mix of veggies and a touch of a fantastic truffle olive oil.

Among the pasta, we highlight the Truffle Lunette, stuffed pasta with truffle, fresh cream sauce and truffle oil; and the Cheese and Pear Fiocchi, an unlikely but delicious mix of flavours in stuffed pasta with cheese and pear, marinated pear, and walnuts.

Thinking of the most traditional type of clients, Forno Nero created the ‘Timeless’ menu, a selection of classic dishes with a modern twist, such as the Confit codfish and the Grilled beef medallion with gratinated potato.

For a happy ending, there’s a Chocolate Brownie that will leave you crying for more, and an equally amazing Banoffee. However, the classics couldn’t be left out – the Tiramisúand the Panacotta. Right next to Forno Nero you’ll find the only Santiniice cream parlor in Algarve, these are considered the best ice creams in the country and they are truly unmissable.

THE AMBIENCE

Located in downtown Faro, in the3HB Faro building, Forno Nero is a true oasis in the middle of the city. The design and decoration of the restaurant was the responsibility of Paulo Lobo. The renowned interior designer created a timeless space that blends elegance and comfort with a relaxed atmosphere, and makes this the ideal place to escape the city stress and enjoy a moment with friends and good food.
