The days and night of July promise great fun. This month is marked by the variety of events taking place all over Algarve, from music shows to cultural markets, we open this edition to share with you everything you won’t want to miss.
On the first day of the month, Albufeira receives the first edition of of ‘Cultura à Beira-Mar’, this local initiative is taking place in Olhos de Água Beach and will count with a very special show by Carol, the singer who was a finalist on the contest of Got Talent Portugal presents her debut album – A Porta – live for the first time. On the 10th, Glenn Miller Orchestra’s returns to Faro for a show at Teatro das Figuras. This group of talented musicians continues to sell out, concerts and charm audiences with the greatest hits from the 1930’s. For more information, click here.
From the 14th to the 17th, the Candlelit Culture Market returns to Lagoa. This unique event celebrates the cultural and musical diversity offers the public an opportunity to get to know the regions and cultures represented in each edition. . This year will be dedicated to the 6 cultures that were on previous years: Islamic culture, celtic, African, Sephardim, Mediterranean and the silk route. Between the 21st and 24th, Lota Cool Market takes an “eCOOLogical Vibe” to the old fish market of Portimão. After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the organization – Associação Teia d’Impulsos – in partnership with the county, «decided to reinvent the Lota Cool Market, that has marked the summer days in the south, and give it a bigger environmental consciousness». To end big, the highlight of our month. The show “Amar Amália” (Love Amália), which pays tribute to Amália Rodrigues, will be presented on the sports pavilion of Albufeira, on July 30th. Aurea, Paulo de Carvalho and Cuca Roseta, are some of the artists that will perform some of the hits by this Diva of Fado. The show is scheduled for 10 p.m., and the tickets are available here.
