World Tourism Day 2019
World Tourism Day is celebrated tomorrow, September the 27th. This day is celebrated annually since 1980 and aims to draw attention to the importance of tourism worldwide.
In the Algarve the date will be marked with a set of initiatives in the cities of Loulé, Albufeira, Silves, Portimão and Faro.
We highlight the initiatives that will take place in the Municipality of Albufeira, as this date has special significance for Albufeira, considered the Capital of Tourism in Portugal.
You will be able to visit Paderne Castle and the Municipal Archeology Museum for free and also guided tours to the city center in Portuguese, English, German and French. In partnership with some transport companies, both residents and tourists will be able to use Giro transport and City Sightseeing buses without paying a ticket. Those who choose the taxi as a means of transportation will receive free gifts.
At the downtown you will be able to attend the I Festival of Living Statues and the Parade of the Volunteer Firefighters of Albufeira. The Festival ends on Sunday, September the 29th.
Check out here in detail all times and locations of these initiatives.
Take this opportunity and visit Albufeira!
