What to do in the Algarve on a cloudy day?

The Algarve, a paradise with more than 300 days of sunshine a year. But what to do on the cloudy days? So much! Here we present you some suggestions of what to do and visit to turn these dull days into fun.

  • Go souvenir shopping!

A grey day is ideal for shopping! In many cities throughout Algarve, you’ll find these local handcraft souvenir shops that have all the perfect souvenirs to gift your friends and family back home. But if you’re looking for some serious shopping, visit Algarve Shopping in Albufeira or Mar Shopping Algarve andDesigner Outlet in Loulé.

  • Spend your day in a theme park

Algarve is famous for its Waterparks that during the summer are an obligatory stop. But while they don’t open, you can adventure yourself in Parque Aventura, in Albufeira, and do a high ropes course or play paintball with your friends. For a more family-friendly plan, you can visit Lagos’ Zoo, or Krazy World, in Algoz, where animals will make the delights of the little ones..

  • Plan a cultural trip

Discover Algarve through one of the many cultural and touristic routes. For example, the Route of Al-Mutamid, the Oranges Route, or, the most famous, EN2 Route, the road that crosses the entire country, connecting Chaves to Faro Get to know the history and traditions of the region and its people, and their singular heritage.

  • Visit local museums

Take some time during your stay to visit some of Algarve’s museums that have been developing and reinventing themselves and present a unique identity and history that deserve to be known. We suggest Faro’s County Museum, Portimão’s Museum, Algarve Live Science Centre and also theTraditional Costume Museum of São Brás de Alportel.
