My dear August...

Meu querido mês de agosto…

Heat, sunshine and days at the beach or by the swimming pool, this is how we are doing in the Algarve! And as promised here are our suggestions for the month of August which for most of the people means summer holidays!

August in Albufeira is a very busy month. We highlight the “28th February 1969, Memories of the Earthquake” Exhibition taking place at the Municipal Archeology Museum from August the 1st to August the 17th, and also “Pax.02 - The Flight of Pax” painting Exhibition by Débora Pax that will take place at the Pintor Samora Barros Art Gallery from August the 3rd to August the 31st.

Also, on the 20th of August Albufeira celebrates the Day of the Municipality Commemorations with a concert by Bonnie Taylor and some firework Display at Pescadores Square.

And as the days on the beach and by the pool whet your appetite, from the 8th till the 10th of August the 22nd Olhos de Água Sardine Festival takes place at Pescadores Square and that can also be a great choice for an evening full of entertainment, petiscos and grilled sardines.

Faro city hosts once again FolkFaro from August the 17th to the 25th, where world traditions are expressed through music and dance.

In the city of Tavira one of the great names of Portuguese music, Miguel Araújo, will give voice to the concert "Summer in Tavira" that you will not want to miss. It will be on August the 21st at Gallery Palace Park at 10 pm.

Sports lovers might like to watch the International Masters Futsal that brings together four of the world's best futsal teams: Sporting Lisbon, Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Movistar Inter FS and AFC Kairat, in Portimão from the 22nd to the 25th of August.

And to celebrate another end of Algarve’s summer, the historic area of Loulé will once again dress up in white, on August the 31st for the eighth edition of the “White Night”. Dress in white and join this late summer party.

The Algarve is waiting for you! See you soon!
